LabWeek Web3 is back!

Last year, more than 3,000 builders came together in Istanbul to collaborate and innovate on the future of the internet. This November, LabWeek Web3 will bring the community back together to continue that progress. Join us November 7-13 in the beautiful city of Bangkok, Thailand, for a packed program that’s being designed by builders, for builders with a focus on securing digital human rights and making the internet more equitable for all. We will dive into deep discussions on privacy, decentralized AI, zk proof technology and innovation, DePIN progress, decentralized storage and identity, real-world applications, and much more.

Where: Bangkok, Thailand
When: Nov. 7-13, 2024

# LabWeek: A Decentralized Conference

LabWeek (opens new window) is the Protocol Labs global decentralized conference series. Each LabWeek provides builders the chance to connect in person to share progress on projects and research, exchange knowledge, and make in-depth connections.

The decentralized format is a proven way for teams in the innovation network to host varied events, allowing attendees the freedom to choose their own journey. These include curated events, research-focused seminars, engineering workshops, summits, unconferences, happy hours, and more.

Each event will be organized by experts in their domain, bringing together specialists and technology leaders to create active and in-depth discussions. The goal is to make real progress and advancements in each of the domains covered by the events at LabWeek Web3, driving innovation and breakthroughs in computing.

# What Is LabWeek Web3?

LabWeek Web3 tackles the urgent issues at the intersection of digital human rights and the decentralized web. As more of our lives move online, we're faced with the increasing challenges of centralized data control, censorship, and violations of our privacy and freedoms. LabWeek is about advancing the technologies — such as IPFS, Filecoin, and more — that give people back control over our data, our freedom of expression, and our digital futures.

This year's event will dig deep into critical topics like decentralized AI, DePIN, zk-proof technology, and decentralized data systems. We'll explore real-world applications and innovations, shaping everything from privacy to infrastructure. The goal: to inspire action and take control of our individual and collective futures.

# Community Driven: By Builders, For Builders

The primary force behind LabWeek Web3 is our community of builders. You are the ones designing the future of the internet, and in many ways, the future of humanity.

That’s why we rely on our community of builders to organize the events at LabWeek Web3. We look to you to identify the tracks and events that are the most meaningful to advance.

Do you want to organize an event? Do you have an idea for an event? We encourage you to host an event. Visit the link on the schedule (opens new window) to get started or email us at labweek@plrs.xyz.

Among the events that are currently on the schedule:

  • ZK Accelerate (opens new window) — Organized by Ingonyama, ZK Accelerate in Bangkok will be the latest in a series of daylong events built around zk engineering with talks, panels, and demos.
  • FIL Bangkok: DePIN Meets AI (opens new window) | Filecoin Foundation — Organized by Filecoin Foundation, this is a day to experience the intersection of DePIN and AI as leading Filecoin ecosystem projects showcase their latest breakthroughs. In partnership with CoinDesk Studios, this main stage moment will spotlight the growing number of cutting-edge L2 solutions built on Filecoin, crucial network upgrades, and the exciting trajectory of the Filecoin network.
  • FIL Dev Summit (opens new window) — A gathering of developers, builders, and engaged community members, who want to contribute to the core protocol and network evolution of Filecoin. The summit is a place for meaningful and impactful conversations that help push Filecoin forward. Register today (opens new window) for early bird pricing!
  • Funding the Commons: Bangkok 2024 (opens new window) — A daylong event on the evolution of innovation in digital public goods and open web funding, with a focus on impact evaluation and related challenges. Funding the Commons will also showcase local and regional approaches in Southeast Asia (SEA) concerning commons-in-practice and public goods

More events are being added to the schedule (opens new window) each week, so check back often for the latest updates. If you’re wondering what it’s like to attend LabWeek Web3, take a look at last year’s experience in this recap video:
